The School
The Jamaica School of Preaching & Biblical Studies (JSP) is an
institution established to prepare Christians from Jamaica and other
Caribbean countries, to be effective preachers and teachers in the Lord's
kingdom.
It is operated by the churches of Christ and its curriculum is based on
the belief that the Bible, particularly the New Testament, is the ultimate
authority or standard in religion for man to follow today. The Bible then is
the main textbook that is used in teaching at the JSP.
It is part of the work of the church in seeking to spread the
gospel, to train faithful men and women by offering four-year degree,
associate degree, diploma and certificate courses that concentrates on the
study of the Bible and related subjects. In addition, vocational training
courses are offered.
Classes are held between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday
through Friday. Students are expected to do at least five hours of private
study each day.
The school also has a Saturday extension programme to interested persons
who are unable to attend full-time, to be well equipped with Bible knowledge
for evangelism and self-development.
